Pakistan beat India by five wickets in their super 4 of Asia Cup at Dubai International Stadium on Sunday. Chasing 182 for a win, Pakistan overhauled the target with one ball to spare. Mohammad Rizwan (71 off 51 balls) and all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz (42 off 20 balls) played a pivotal role as they turned the game to Pakistan Side in a thriller view. Earlier, Virat Kohli hit a brilliant half-century (60 off 44 balls) and Indian skipper Rohit Sharma scored 28 (16) and guide India to raise a target of 181/7 in 20 overs. Shadab Khan, the Pakistani bowler picked two wickets, his figure was highest from both sides.
Pakistan won the toss and invited India to bat first. For the India opener KL Rahul contributed 28 off 20 balls, while, Rohit Sharma 28 off 16. Virat Kohli came on the third number and hit a gigantic inning as 60 off 44 balls including 4 fours and 1 six. No one other batter touched the 20 own score, Finally, India raised a 182 target to win for Pakistan. Shadab Khan picked two wickets, while Nasim Shah, Muhammad Hasnain, Haris Rauf and Mohammad Nawaz took one wicket each of full spell (4 ov).
While chasing, Pakistan start was not good as opener Babar Azam (14 off 10 balls) out at team’s 22 scores in just 3.4 overs, and then Fakhar Zaman went to pavilion at team’s 63 and his 15 off 18 balls. But opener Mohammad Rizwan handled the team and Mohammad Nawaz, who came on the fourth number put the game into Pakistan’s bag through his storming 6 fours and 2 huge sixes. He scored 40 off 20 balls, while Rizwan became top scorer 71 off 51 balls. Rizwan also hit 6 fours and 2 beautiful sixes during his inning. Both champion batters helped Pakistan to overhaul the biggest chase of 182 against arch-rivalry team India.
Rizwan bagged the man of the match award for his inning 71 off 51 balls.
