The Cricket fraternity and the Social Media is ALL “A BUZZ” with the HEROICS of India’s Rishabh Pant’s game at Edgbaston.
India was struggling at 98/5, when Rishab Pant and Ravindra Jadeja formed a great partnership of saving India from a precarious situation. Ravindra was 83 not out and Rishab scored 146 runs off just 111 balls. That helped India pass the 300 run threshold with a stunning 222-run stand for the sixth wicket.
The legends of the cricket batting world Sachin Tendulkar and Ian Bishop, and many current and former cricketers like former England captain Michael Vaughan and the likes of Sourav Ganguly, Venkatesh Prasad, Amit Mishra to name a few were ALL PRAISE for Rishab’s phenomenal and outstanding play. Even Indian industrialist Anand Mahindra called him a sports artiste
Some called India’s wicketkeeper-batter Rishab the Spiderman of cricket and others called him the modern Gladiator of the entertainment world. It was one of the best counter-attack innings. Pant’s game at Edgbaston was awesome hammering 4 sixes and 20 boundaries.
Here are some stats of Rishab’s cricket:
- His 89-ball 100 is the quickest Test century at Edgbaston in Birmingham which has been hosting Test matches since 1902
- He is the first Indian wicket-keeper to hit 2 Test 100s in a year away from India
- And he is the third Indian wicket-keeper after Syed Kirmani and MS Dhoni to complete the double of 2000=plus runs and 100-plus dismissals.
