India trump Pakistan in ODI Rankings after thumping England by 10 wickets in 1st ODI

India’s smashing 10 wicket victory against England helped them bounce the ICC rankings from fourth to third and also surpassed the Pakistan team which was on third till yesterday. But a one match innings with a striking knock by the Indians has led them to shift the gears and make their place still on the third place with 108 points. Pakistan with 106 ICC points ranking stays at the fourth position.

Now in getting this position,all credits has to be given to the one and only, Jasprit Bumrah and and secondly the senior player Mohammed Shami’s bowling innings. Both the players with their sharp and edgy balls with extra swing added to it to some crucial wicket, which is with the likes of Jason Roy (0 off 5), Joe Root (0 off 2), Jonny Bairstow (7 off 20), Ben Stokes (0 off 1), Liam Livingstone (0 off 8), Jos buttler (30 off 32) just to name a few.

In total Jasprit took 6 wickets in total whereas in supporting him was Mohammed Shammi who took 3 wickets being the second highest wicket taker.

From the batting side even, it was Rohit getting close to its century making 77 of 58 whereas in supporting him the southpaw Shikhar Dhawan who was ably supportive to the captain making 31 off 54 deliveries.

With smashing the England team with its 10 wickets victory, the Rohit led squad has surprised everyone. The victory has not only brought India at the 3rd spot from 4th, but also Jasprit Bumrah topping the ICC chart becoming the first.

Now for the Indian team to surpass the New Zealand and the England team is just two steps away and with ample matches in line for them to achieve. First is the remaining two ODI matches remaining against England, and then the three match ODI series against West Indies later this month.

The next match India will be facing against England will be tomorrow i.e., 14th July, 2022.
