The Caribbean bowler Obed McCoy played a pivotal role in WI’s win,  picked 6 wickets

After a long wait finally, West Indies team succeed to register their first win over India in ongoing tour matches between both as WI won the second T20 match by 5 wickets on Monday. The Caribbean bowler Obed McCoy picked 6/17 wickets in 4 overs. McCoy booked Indian Skipper Rohit Sharma on the first ball of the game. Following the above win, WI lead equally 1-1 in five matches T20 series.

        Nicholas Pooran, the WI’ Captain won the toss and decided to bowl first. In the first ball as well as the first over of the game, The Caribbean Pacer Obed McCoy made Pooran’s decision right showing his strength as he booked Rohit Sharma on 0. After Sharma’s wicket loss, the Indian innings flattered and 3 batters went to the pavilion on 40 scores.

The Indian Wicket Keeper and batter Rishabh Pant (24 off 12 balls, 1 four, 2 sixes) tried to handle the inning, but he could not do more and gave catch on Akeal Hosein’s bowl. The all-rounder Hardik Pandya (31 off 31 balls, 1 four, 2 sixes) and Ravindra Jadeja (27 off 30 balls, 1 six) took thier team on respectful score as India given a target of 138/10 in 19.4 overs.

        After a dominant performance of bowlers, the WI’s batters went on rampage and won the match easily by 141/5 in 19.2 overs. The Opener Caribbean batter Brandon King completed half-century. King scored 68 off 52 balls including 8 fours and 2 sixes with a 130.77 run rate. The WI’s wicketkeeper Devon T’omas’s unbeaten 31 off 19 balls took the team on victory. The WI’s captain scored 14 off 11 balls.
