IND vs AUS: We Need to Take the Momentum Forward: Dinesh Karthik Is Thrilled After India Level Series Against Australia

Dinesh Karthik despite playing a match winning innings for his team, credited the superb play from the captain Rohit Sharma and Axar Patel for guiding India to a six-wicket victory in the second T20I, levelling the series by 1-1.

But talking on practical grounds, Dinesh said,

We need to take the momentum forward, 1-1 is a good score. You want to play those crunch games. But more importantly, we are happy to have put up a show for the crowd with no injuries,

Crediting Rohit and Axar for all the achievement, Dinesh added,

Rohit was trying to tell me what the bowler would do. I had my plans. As a middle order batter, it is all about execution. It feels good to hit the winning runs. Rohit with the bat and Axar with the ball stood out. It is also good to see Bumrah back,

Speaking of the match, it started with a delay of 2 and half hours, due to which the match was reduced from 20-20 to 8-8 overs just because the stadium was logged with water over night and took time to come back to normalcy.

Winning the toss first, Rohit decided to bowl, and let the Australians to set the target. In return, Finch and team mounted a decent 91 run innings at the loss of 4 wickets, and Matthew Wade, scoring his best of 43 from 20 balls.

Taking the advantage of the low target, Rohit and KL Rahul came down firing upon the Australians and especially Rohit who hit a nice 46 run innings in just 20 balls.

But when India was on stage where they needed 9 runs from 6 balls and with the loss of 4 wickets, Dinesh Karthik on crease decided to do the magic by hitting a six and a four on Daniel Sams bowling, leading the team to victory.
