IND vs AUS 1st T20 match report : Australia chase down 209 to beat India by four wickets

The cricket team Australia chased down 209 to beat India by 4 wickets in their maiden match of the series. The Australian captain after winning the toss, opted to bowl first, but sooner or later could have realized what decision he took wasn’t enough to restrict the indian team from hammering the bowls, it is a another thing that our top orders failed miserably but following the aggressive approach, even the middle order with the likes of Hardik Pandya who scored 71* runs of just 30 balls, with Suryakumar’s 46 off 25 helped India to reach a massive run chase of 208 for loss of 6 wickets.

So when did the disaster start for the Indian team?

The disaster started when the team started dropping a few crucial catches of the innings. The first came in the form of Cameron Green by Axar Patel, who dropped a simple catch near the deep square area which later proved to be fatal, because Cameron Green was top scorer of his team with 61 runs off 30 balls.

Second catch that was dropped, came in the form of Steve Smith and the fielder for this fatal mistake was none other than, KL Rahul (55 off 35) who dropped this crucial catch at the deep, which indeed was an easy catch.

Third, came in the form of Matthew Wade, dropped by the bowler Harshal Patel itself, which indeed proved out to be fatal again, which eventually led Wade to score 45 being not out. The gravity of such misfields can only be accessed, that all three catches dropped were the match winners for their team.

India, despite their grave mistakes tried harder and got a few instant wickets in the form of Glenn Maxwell, and Steve Smith, but the blunder was already made. There wasn’t a problem in the Indian batting order either but the field that needs an overhaul.

Cameroon Green was declared the player of the match with Australia winning the game by 4 wickets and taking their first lead in the tournament.
