‘If Rohit Sharma was half as fit as Virat Kohli…’: Ex-Pak skipper makes bold comment on India captain

After Asia Cup, now high intense rivalry between India and Pakistan would be seen once again in the upcoming T20 World in Australia which is scheduled to start on October 16 and will continue to November 13.

Before the start of the tournament, Former Pakistani skipper Salman Butt made a bold comment on his YouTube channel about India’s captain Rohit Sharma that increased the tension between both teams.

But said that Rohit would’ve been on par with the legendary AB de Villiers if he was half as fit as Virat Kohli who is one of the fittest cricketers to ever play the game.

However, when it comes to comparing India’s captain with their national players like Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, he refrained from doing so.

Here’s what Batt said,

Unka (Rohit) comparison nahi banta (with Babar and Rizwan). With his set of skills, Rohit ki fitness Kohli se aadhi ho, toh use zyada destructive (Kharab) player nahi hai. Fir uska aur sirf AB de Villiers ka match reh jaata hai, beechme koi player nahi aata. Agar who (Rohit) bohot fit hotey Kohli ki tarah toh pata nahi woh kya kartey. (Rohit can’t be compared with Babar and Rizwan). With his set of skills, Rohit would be the most destructive player if his fitness levels were half as good as Kohli’s. Only AB de Villiers comes close to him).

When we come to the lates ICC T20 rankings, the Pakistani duo of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan holds the top two positions. Rohit and Kohli, on the other hand, are placed 14th and 29th respectively, Batt added in that video.

It was not the first time when a Pakistani skipper made a bold comment over Rohith Sharma, earlier, on PTV sports news during the Asia Cup play, former Pak captain Mohammad Hafeez also made an indecent comment over Rohit.

He said that he feels that there is too much weight of captain-ships on Rohits’ shoulders. So, he (Rohit) is facing difficulties. His (Rohit) current form is very poor and slipping on the poorest side. And, His body language is also very bad
