Harshal Patel thanks Rahul Dravid and Rohit Sharma for being supportive through injury: Takes pressure off you

Harshal Patel, the fast bowler finds a place in the Indian national team after a long injury. He’s going to bowl against the Australian and the South African in a bilateral series getting held from in Mohali from tomorrow i.e., September 20th, 2022.

Why Harshal Patel?

Because, Harshal is known for his aggression, focus, dedication and more importantly his deceptive bowling style which makes him a difficult choice even for experienced batters from all over the world. The style was quite evident during the IPL where he took in total 32 wickets from 15 games at an economy rate of 8.14. He was also the game changer of the series. The Indian pacer is quite pivotal not during the upcoming bilateral series but also for the mega show i.e., the T20I world cup starting from October 16th this year.

Harshal recently during his interaction or interview in other words we say, was seen naming Rohit Sharma as well as the team coach Rahul Dravid stating them as supportive. Look at what he has to say,

They (India coach Rahul Dravid and captain Rohit Sharma) have been nothing but supportive. It does take a bit of pressure off you. Because sometimes people make foolish decisions when they’re returning to play.

They’re either trying to do too much or trying to push too hard because they feel that their place is in danger or for whatever reason,

He further added,

But if you know for a fact that the team management will remember what you’ve done prior to getting injured, and those performances and contributions are not forgotten, then that gives you a sense of calm or comfort that once you go back into the team-obviously you will have to perform again and again and that goes for every single cricketer-you know that you will hold that place in the team,

A sense of calm and comfort is what he says in the support front he gets from his captain and coach. Speaking to Espncricinfo, Harshal also expressed a few things while he was at the Rehab, stating,

During Rehab, I’ve had a chance to hit 500 to 700 balls over two-three weeks. It’s something I’ve wanted to work on for quite a while because I really want to contribute in that capacity as well
