The 29- time-old faced an injury in the Gujrat titans’ first match against Mumbai Indians. Beth Mooney will miss the coming two matches for the side before ultimately being ruled out of the season.
Australian opening batter Beth Mooney will miss the remaining season of WPL 2023, due to an injury that will bear up to 6 weeks to heal. Mooney, the captain of the Gujarat titans, suffered an injury in the opening match of the Twenty-20 event in India last weekend as she got retired hurt.

The 29- time-old missed the coming two matches and will now travel home for recovery. South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt is replacing her in the Gujarat team. Wolvaardt, who was in Pakistan to take part in the Women’s League exhibition matches, has been released by her team. ” I was looking forward to the WPL season. But unfortunately, injuries are part and parcel of the sport and I’m filleted to be missing the remainder of the season.” Mooney said in a statement released by Gujarat titans. ” I’ll be keeping a close eye on the team’s performance from hence and will be lodging for them every single day,” She said about Gujarat, who is 4th in the five-team league after one win and two losses. Wolvaardt, her relief for the 2023 season, was the top arranger for the South African women’s team in the T20 World Cup, with 3 half-centuries from 6 matches.
Her support played a major part in helping the South Africans reach the final of the event, where they lost to the world titleholders Australia. Speaking on the occasion, Wolvaardt said, “I’m so agitated to be joining the Gujarat titans. It’s an inconceivable occasion and I’m very thankful to be suitable to play in the WPL. I look forward to meeting up with the team and cannot stay to get going.”
