Qatar, the host country for the FIFA World Cup 2022, knew it would be eliminated in the group stage itself and get the tag of being the earliest-ever host or team to be getting knocked out of the tournament. Millions of fans from Qatar and their dreams got shattered after their beloved team got knocked out so early i.e., just after two games.
In the match between Qatar Vs. Senegal, it was the Senegalese that defeated Qatar by 3–1 in a Group A match, which proved to be a blow for the Qataris. It was the second match for the Qatar team that they lost against a better-looking African team. This defeat against Senegal and a draw between the Netherlands and Ecuador resulted in the team’s elimination from the World Cup.
So how did the match start?
In the first half of the game, Senegal Boulaye Dia scored his first goal in the 41st minute (first half), then celebrated, while following in his footsteps, it was Famara Diedhiou who scored through a superb header in the 48th minute(second) Scored his second goal. (Half) gave his team Senegal a 2-0 lead. But who knew that the Qatari side would try to lighten their load by adding a goal from the precious feet by Mutari, who tried to give some relief to the home crowd in the 78th minute and gave hope that they could win. Mutari gave his team hope, after just six minutes, Senegal’s Cheikh Daeng scored the third goal in the 84th minute to seal his team’s fortunes. Senegal’s team has three points from two matches so far.
During the first and second half, several attempts were made by the Qatar team but were brilliantly saved by Senegalese goalkeeper Edouard Mendy, who is regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world.
With this defeat, Team Qatar sits at the bottom of the points table with no points while Senegal have topped their group with 3 points. Both Netherlands and Ecuador are seated with 4 points each from Group A. On 29th of November, Ecuador is going to clash against Senegal who recently defeated Qatar by 3-1 and showing them the gates outside before even getting started.
Whereas Netherland’s will be facing the team Qatar on Tuesday.
