BCCI Secretary keeps his commitment to equal pay for Male and Female Indian Cricketers
In a historic move, BCCI on Thursday announced equal pay for all contracted male and female cricketers on Team India. His BCCI Director Jay Shah took to his Twitter to announce the development.
We are pleased to announce BCCI’s first step in combating discrimination. We are introducing an equal pay policy for contracted female cricketers. Match fees for cricketers have been reduced to a new era of gender equality in Indian cricket.” It’s the same because we’re going into it,

This is an appreciable action by the Hon. BCCI has taken this week.
In the current system, Harman Preet Kaur and Co. have earned a gaming fee of INR 15,000 per test, INR 6,000 per ODI, and INR 3,000 per T20I, like their male counterparts.
He further added,
Female cricketers receive the same playing fees as male cricketers: Test (Rs. 150,000), ODI (Rs. 60,000), T20I (Rs. 30,000). It’s my commitment to my players and I thank the Apex Council for their support,
Women Team on Top with Performance
It also won India’s first medal in cricket at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham earlier this year. The team, led by Harman Preet Kaur, lost to Australia in the final and won the silver medal. The popularity of women’s cricket in India has seen an unprecedented surge since India lost to the hosts in the final of her 2017 Women’s ODI World Cup in England.
BCCI also announced her first five-team women’s IPL next year at the latest AGM in Mumbai earlier this month.
A new era of Women’s cricket is about, to begin with, many hopes and dreams with such great encouraging decisions for the betterment of Indian Cricket.
