The Rajasthan Royals topped the points table by beating MS Dhoni to the Chennai Super Kings in match No.37 of IPL 2023 on Thursday 27 April, at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Rajasthan.
In a post-match interview, the CSK captain traced his memory and revealed why the stadium is so important to him. Dhoni had asked about the fan support for the visiting team at the venue.

Speaking to commentators, Dhoni said he returned in 2005 and recalled his memorable 183 wins over Sri Lanka. “In his first ODI 100 at Vizag, I think I got a chance of 10 games.But here, at 183, this groundgave me a chance for a year, so this place is very big for me. It’s important.” Dhoni said.
Dhoni had a century against Sri Lanka in their second ODI format match. Dhoni scored his first goal against Pakistan in April 2005. Six months later, he had another century and declared his team his place in India. Dhoni scored just 299 runs, as he beat his undefeated 183 from 145 balls. While at the crease, he hit 10 6s and 15 4s.
