The Badminton Stars are in focus as they gear up to face Malaysia in Mixed team Final, the battle for Gold Medal in Birmingham on Tuesday. A day ago defending champions defeated Singapore by 3-0 in the semi-final. Indian pair Satwiksairaj Reddy and Chirag Shetty won the mixed doubles tie 212-11, 21-12, PV Sindhu then clinched a 21-11, 21-12 victory to give defending champions 2-0 lead. Into the winning flex, Lakshya Sen also took over World Champion Loh Kean Yew in straight games to help India’s entery in the Final.
Earlier, Indian mixed team have won the ‘Gold Medal’ in CWG-2018. India also ended Malaysia’s run for gold in previous CWG.
