Turkey international footballer Merih Demiral has revealed that he will put up for auction a shirt signed by Cristiano Ronaldo. Ronaldo and Demiral played together for Juventus from 2019 to 2021. A 7.8 size earthquake struck Turkey and Syria, killing 10,000 people.
Demiral, who is currently on loan from Juve to Atlanta, has spoken to Ronaldo about the situation. He has announced on social media. He will donate Ronaldo’s Juventus jersey from his collection to raise funds for those devastated by the natural disaster.
They became good friends during their time at Juventus. They had signed shirts for his teammates as parting gifts. Demiral explained that the money raised from the auction will divert to NGOs.
“I discussed with @Cristiano. He said he was very sad about what happened in Turkey. I’m going to auction a Ronaldo-signed shirt from my collection. All proceeds from the auction will go to disaster recovery.” I will use it for your support. Funds will divert as donation @ahbap,” Demiral tweeted.
Ronaldo is currently playing for the Saudi Arabian club Al Nasr.
