Cricket Australia directors contemplate lifting David Warner’s captaincy ban

Australia opener batter David Warner’s lifetime captaincy could be lifted as Cricket Australia directors have given a clear hint to contemplate the decision, and they are rewriting the organization’s code of ethics to a report. The 35-year-old left-handed batter was punished with a lifetime team-leading ban following the sandpaper scandal in 2018. Earlier, in September, he reportedly discussed with CA ending his above ban on the national team.

Warner who is closing in on 100 T20 Internationals and 100 Tests appearances, has been looked upon as a possible candidate for Australia’s vacant ODI captain’s post. However, due to the present code of ethics, he is unable to take up the role. CA directors will discuss the issue in their next board meeting on Friday.
