Bumrah drawing inspiration from Dhoni ahead of captaincy debut

Jasprit Bumrah is now leading the Indian Cricket Team into the rescheduled fifth and final test starting this Friday at Edgbaston and he seems unfazed as he takes on the captaincy.

While addressing the press conference Jasprit Bumrah stated it to be his greatest achievement and honour to lead the team. He continued further stating,

“As playing in the test match was on once his dream and getting the opportunity like the leading team India is the biggest achievement of my career. I am very happy that I’ve been given this opportunity”

Bumrah is confident of his team and is ready to take on the England side which is in form.  On the eve of the game he was drawing inspiration from Mahinder Singh Dhoni saying:

“I remember speaking to MS( Dhoni), and he told me that he never captained any side before he led India for the first time. Now, he is remembered as one of the most successful captains of all time. “So, I am focusing on how I can help the team and not focusing on what I have done before or how the cricketing conventions or the rules haven been set.”

This will be the maiden game for Bumrah as captain and whether his role as captain is accidental or not, Bumrah is all confident. This pacer has risen spectacularly in international cricket, having made his debut in Test cricket in January 2018. He has also had long conversations with the former captain Virat and Rohit. He has also discussed with coach Rahul Dravid, studying the wicket and have decided on the opener’s as well. But he is keeping at all under wraps.

Wishing the best to both the teams, let us see how India fares under the new young captain.
