BCCI Unveils New Team India T20 Jersey Ahead Of T20 World Cup

Ahead of the T20I World Cup that is starting from October 16th, this year, not only the team but the entire public of India is excited to see the men-in-blue in action. But adding to it, recently the BCCI unveiled a new jersey for the Indian team which surprisingly seems to have very few changes.

On the official twitter handle of BCCI, the post says “Presenting One Blue Jersey” with its official kit sponsor MPL. In the post you’ll see both Men and Women in Blue standing including the likes of the men’s team captain, Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, including the women’s team captain Harmanpreet Kaur and other two women players as seen in the picture. Interestingly, the Indian team will begin wearing their new jersey not from the T20 WC but from the Tri series between India, Australia, and South Africa, starting from tomorrow i.e., September 20th, 2022, beginning from Mohali.

Now let’s understand a little bit more about the new jersey.

The new kit that you see has a lighter shade of blue, like the one BCCI used during the T20I world Cup in 2007, whereas the shoulder patches are kept dark blue in color while the rest of the jersey is kept in light blue color.

Just in the font (chest area) you will see the branding of the edutech company Byju’s with the tagging of the country’s name “India” beneath it. But there is one thing that has kept unchanged, and that is the BCCI’s badging with three stars just above the BCCI’s logo resembling the world cup wins of 1982, 2007 and 2011 which is right at the heart of all Indian players’ T-shirts with MPL’s on the right.

The triangles, if you notice, in light blue colors represent spirit, energy and power with dark blue petals on them which also denote merits and loyalty towards the nation. Speaking of the other half section of the jersey, the pants are all sky blue.
