After completing the successful election for BCCI’s president post, Sourav Ganguly has said that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is in “great hands” under new President Roger Binny, who has been elected 36th head of the board on Tuesday, October 18 at board’s Annual General Meeting(AGM) in Mumbai. Ganguly also expressed his best wishes to the new BCCI president.
I wish Roger (Binny) all the best. The new group will take this forward. BCCI is in great hands. Indian cricket is strong so I wish them all the luck, said Ganguly who was presented at the AGM.

Binny was a part of the 1983 World Cup-winning team. He has given his services as President of the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA). He became the third Test cricketer to head the BCCI after Maharaja of Vizianagaram and Sourav Ganguly, whose term ended at the BCCI AGM.
Binny, the 67-year-old has taken the charge as the cricket board’s chief just when the Indian team is in Australia and participating in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022. After the end of the tournament, all eyes will be on the One-Day World Cup, which is scheduled to be hosted in India in 2023.
It is pertinent to write that Jay Shah, son of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who completed his first tenure with Ganguly as BCCI secretary, will continue in his role for the second term.
Earlier, Ganguly, the former India captain was offered the IPL Chairman post but, the 50-year-old reportedly declined that offer while saying that no compromise with the current role. And, now he has been replaced at BCCI’s 91stAGM.
