BCCI announces India squad for T20I series against West Indies, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah rested

BCCI, also known as the Board of Control for Cricket in India, announces the India squad which excludes the names like Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah. Both the players have given rest from the upcoming West Indies T20I tour starting July 29, 2022. Keeping in mind the workload management instead of Bumrah the Indian selectors have decided to bring Kuldeep Yadav on board. Kuldeep was dismissed after injuring his finger during net practice during the T20I South Africa series. Along with Kuldeep, the player KL Rahul has also been included in the team. KL Rahul was recently out due to groin injury and now will get a chance to make a comeback.

Kuldeep is now fully fit and ready to take on the Caribbean players. Kuldeep was recently given the green signal from the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.

Now let’s talk about Virat being rested, so we all know how Virat is going through a struggling form at the moment and he is being criticized from all sides. Recently, former Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev even suggested that Virat should do some special exercises to improve his reflexes so as to improve his coordination between eye and hand.

Everyone, you name it, we have Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar, former Pakistani cricketer Rashid Latif, who is not criticizing the bright player. The most amazing thing is that he himself was once a player.

There were two additional names that got recently added in to the league of Criticism and were Syed Kirmani and the former pacer Venkatesh Prasad who said,

“If you are not performing in a few innings, irrespective of however experienced you might be, the selection committee takes a call and says, ‘That’s it. Go back to domestic cricket, come back to form and then we will see if we can fit you back into the Indian team’. Don’t see why that can’t apply to Virat Kohli,”

Well the statement from Kirmani says a lot in itself. However, the BCCI has announced recently their 16 member squad for the tour against West Indies. Shikhar Dhawan has been selected to be the captain of this set of team whereas Ravindra Jadeja will lead it as Deputy.
