The Pakistan Skipper Babar Azam has put up his dominance as the top-ranked ICC ODI batter in the world. The star batter Azam is also No. 1 in men’s T20 ranking.
Babar Azam, the early edge successful skipper of Pakistan scored a brilliant half-century and a total of 74 during Pakistan’s challenging 16-run victory over the Netherlands on Tuesday. Following the buzzing batting against Netherlands, he raised himself on the top of the ODI ranking list.
The ICC announced their latest men’s ODI ranking on Wednesday and Babar’s reach went top of the ranking chart.
Babar’s fire continues to rage in ranking since he trounced former India captain Virat Kohli in April last year. He is now leading in ranking with the help of 891 ranking points. Whereas, India’s batter Kohli skipped to 5th position. Babar’s colleague Imam-ul-Haq is on 2nd number and then two of South African players Rassie Van der Dussen and Quinton de Kock are third and fourth number respectively.
In T20 ranking, Babar has 818 points, a few point more in comparison to his closest challenger India’s Suryakumar Yadav. Yadav has 805 points, less than 13 points from Pakistani Star. Mohd Rizwan, anotherteammate of Babar is in third place with 794 points. Thereafter, South Africa’s Aiden Markram is in fourth and David Malan of England placed in fifth number with their respective 792 and 731 points.
