India is likely to be out of Asia Cup final race after losing the second match of the super-4 phase against Sri Lanka by 6 wickets at Dubai International Stadium on Tuesday. Chasing 174 for a win, Sri Lanka overhauled the target with one ball to spare SL’s captain Dasun Shanaka 33 (18) and Bhanuka Rajapaksa 25 (17) stitched a 64-run partnership for the fifth wicket and took SL to victory. Kusal Mendis was top scorer (57 off 37 balls; 4 fours, 3 sixes) from their side. Yuzvendra Chahal picked three wickets for 34 runs, and R Ashwin got one fo4 32 in all spells.

Earlier, India’s skipper Rohit Sharma (72 off 41 balls; 5 fours, 4 sixes) played a gigantic inning and help India to raise a target of 173/8 in 20 overs. But his superb knock went in vain as unfortunately, India lost the match.India’s top batter Virat Kohli performed brilliantly in previous matches of tournament, could not show his stardom, and was out on his 0 scores after facing 4 balls while opener KL Rahul 6-run off 7 balls. Dilshan MadhuShanka took three wickets for 24 runs while Chamika Karunaratne and DasunShanaka picked two wickets each for Sri Lanka.

SL’s Skipper Dasun Shanaka bagged the player of the match award for his sensational 33-run knock of 18 balls and two wickets.
