India’s Kaamya Karthikeyan became the youngest Indian to scale Mount Everest, peaking at 8,849 meters on the Nepal side. She is also the second youngest in the world to climb Everest. The news came a day after Arunachal Pradesh’s Kabak Yano etched her name in history by becoming the fifth woman from the state to scale Mount Everest. She was the first woman from the Nyishi tribe to do this. Yano accomplished this remarkable feat at 11:50 am on Tuesday alongside five other members of the summit team Babu Sherpa, Ngima Dorjee Sherpa, Subash Rai, Lakpa Nurbu Sherpa and Shere Sherpa all hailing from Nepal.
