The University of Kansas on Wednesday suspended Hall of Fame coach Bill Self and top assistant Curtis Townsend and imposed several hiring restrictions as part of the impact of the FBI’s lengthy investigation into corruption in college basketball.

Norm Roberts will be the reigning champion’s substitute coach starting Monday night’s opener against Omaha. Self and Townsend will also miss a game against North Dakota State and Southern Utah, a showdown between the high-profile No. 5 Jayhawks in his Classic of the Champions and his No. 7 Dukes.

Self and Townsend will join the team to face North Carolina State at Battle 4 Atlantis in the Bahamas on November 23rd.
