India’s rising star Surya Kumar Yadav continues his leap to the top of the ICC T20 batting average rankings, passing Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan to become the number one T20 batsman in the latest rankings.

Pakistani veteran Mohammad made an impressive start to the Men’s ICC T20 World Cup, and Yadav overtook Rizwan. The 32-year-old has set consecutive records for half a century against the Netherlands and South Africa.

India’s Dynamo has been a revelation since making his debut in his T20I internationally last March, and his recent performance taking the top spot from Rizwan has been one of his best in recent times. It’s a tribute to the form.

Yadav says he has already scored eight and a half centuries in T20I this year and his two most recent strikes in Australia mean more can come from a right-arm attackis shown. Namibian batsman J.J. Sumit swapped positions with Zimbabwean veteran Sikandar Raza for fifth and for sixth, while Australian duo Marcus Stoinis and Glenn Maxwell both finished in the top ten.
