Team India registered their buzzing win in the first ODI of three matches series against Zimbabwe at Harare Sporting Clubs in Harare on Thursday. Opener Shubhman Gill (81 off 72 balls) and Shikhar Dhawan (81 off 113 balls) played a splendid inning and took India to victory point at 192/0 in 30.5 overs without any loss. Both Indian openers completed a brilliant half-century. Whereas, Indian bowlers Deepak Chahar, Axar Patel, and Prasidha Krishna wreaked havoc over underdogs team as each one picked three wickets in the first inning.
Zimbabwe’s start was very poor as they lost their four wicket at the 31 scores of team. Skipper Regis Chakabva handled a little bit his team and scored 35 off 51 balls. He was booked by Axar Patel. Then after him, the eighth number batter Brad Evan’s Unbeaten 33 off 29 balls and ninth order batter Richard’s 34 runs helped Zimbabwe to raise a respectful targetof 189/10 (winning 190) in 40.3 overs.
With the storming form of Gill and Dhawan, India chased the target very easily. The partnership between both went to till finish the match as 192 in 30.5 ovs. Gill hit 10 fours and 1 six, while Dhawan stoked 9 fours. This is India’s one of biggest win against Zimbabwe in their own den.
Gill, who had completed his maiden fifty in the last tour series against West Indies missed completing his first-ever century (100) in ODI from 12 runs. But, he completed his second fifty (82-very close to 100) in Harare.
