The World’s No. 3 tennis champion Rafael Nadal lost his first match after a six-week injury layoff against Croatian star Borna Coric at Center Court of Cincinnati (Western & Southern Open). Coric defeated him in two set of three set match as 711– 69, 4-6, 6-3.

 Nadal, the Spanish tennis professional, who is also a 22 Grand Slam championship winner, had not played since the last recent Wimbledon Grand Slam quarter-final due to an abdominal injury. At that time, he announced his withdrawal before Wimbledon’s semi-final and gave a free pass to Australian Star Nick Kyrgios.

 After taking a six-week medical treatment and rest from tournaments, the 36-year-old Nadal moved to come back in the Cincinnati Open, an annual outdoor hardcore tennis tournament which is held in Ohio, near Cincinnati.

Nadal, the ATP’s third-ranked player tried to show his previous brilliance in the first set against Coric. Facing a tough challenge from Croatian player, he succeed to defend and took him on 6, but he failed in few last games and lost the set by 711– 69. In the second set Nadal suddenly bounced back and beated Coric by 4-6. Finally, he lost the third set scoring 3-6 as well as the match.
